QFAB has been awarded a fabrication, construction, and loadout contract by McDermott for the QatarEnergy LNG North Field East (NFE) Topsides and Offshore Pipelines and Subsea Cables Project representing the largest single contract QFAB has been awarded to date.

The North Field Expansion Project (NFXP/NFE) comprises of two (2) development phases, North Field East (NFE) and North Field South (NFS) to significantly increase the State of Qatar LNG Production capacity from 77 MTPA to 110 MTPA and from 110 MTPA to 126 MTPA, respectively.

The NFXP/NFE development will add new offshore wells and infrastructure including WHPs, pipelines and onshore facilities to boost LNG production for export. The NFE development will add eighty (80) wells on eight (8) nos. fifteen (15) slot offshore platforms located approximately 50 – 90 km from Ras Laffan with a water depth variation of 20 to 57 meters in the North Field.

The scope of the contract includes the fabrication, construction and loadout of four Wellhead Platform Topsides (16,894MT), two (2) four level Sensor Tower Platforms (2,500MT) and 9,000MT of subsea structures including, subsea Crossing Sleepers, Subsea Crossing Bridges.
